Welcome

Ever wonder, as you sit comfortably in front of your PC with Chessmaster® readily available to help figure out the next move against your virtual opponent,  what it's like to play a real game of chess against real people?  It's fun.

It's time to release yourself from the grip of that flat-faced mouse-activated opponent.  Escape from your cyber cocoon and conquer your Chessophobia.  Visit your local chess club to unleash your hidden talent and subject your intuitive skill to a test in tournament chess.  It's a challenge.

Whether you're a puzzle enthusiast, trained to solve intricate chess problems in less than the allotted time, a book player who can spot a refutation in Gary Lane's book, or a timid Chessosaurus, there are surprises waiting for you at the club.  You can always find someone who plays as badly as you do or as well as you can.  If you don't know your playing strength yet, you can have yourself rated by playing tournament games.  It's a rewarding experience.

In this web site you'll find enough valuable information to help you feel welcome at our club. You'll find about our members, the games we played and result of our past chess endeavours. Use the Club Calendar to chart your chess campaign.  With a continuous chess season under way, you'll be able to find time to suit your schedule and participate in over-the-chessboard activities.  You may play for fun as a member of the team in friendly club matches, or play for blood as an individual combatant in gruelling chess battles.  It's your choice.

Click on the navigation buttons to surf our Chess-worthy articles.  There are links to chess news, tournaments, problems, combinations, and selected games from club players, International Masters, Grandmasters and more.

You'll be happy to know that in this site, chess games are presented in dynamic and friendly way using Chessgenie .  When viewing games, all you need to do is click on the game option.  Clickable buttons are provided so you can follow the text, take back the move, jump to the end position or restart the game.

When confronted with an interesting position and you want to divert from the main line, you'll be surprised to know that you can also make an alternative move.  Simply, drag and drop the chess piece on the board.  This important feature provides a convenient way of making your own variation - from start to concluding position.   It's a welcome relief for those of us struggling to visualise who has the advantage in problem-like positions.

When you're done, click on the reset button to resume the interrupted line.  This is one of the unique features of Chessgenie .

Have fun with Chessgenie©

It's your move!
